Conductor Alternatives: 6 Picks Now That Conductor Is Joining Meta (Nov 2026)
Conductor is joining Meta and Conductor Cloud deletes data from 20 Nov. Six alternatives for parallel coding agents in worktrees, checked 6 Nov 2026.

Our view: Emdash is the closest Conductor alternative for local work, and Orca is the one if you relied on Conductor Cloud. Conductor is joining Meta, has stopped new sign ups, and starts deleting Cloud data on 20 Nov 2026, so export first. Checked 6 Nov 2026.
Munder Difflin is free and open source: a desktop app that runs a team of AI agents for all kinds of knowledge work, coding included, on your own computer. More pages like this sit in our Comparisons hub.
What is happening to Conductor?
Conductor is joining Meta, and its cloud product shuts down this month. Conductor’s announcement, read 6 Nov 2026 and dated 4 Nov 2026 in its changelog, opens: “I have big news: Conductor is joining Meta.”
Its timeline, quoted:
- Wednesday, Nov 4: “New users can no longer sign up for Conductor or download the app.”
- Friday, Nov 13: “Conductor Cloud workspaces go read-only.”
- Friday, Nov 20: “We begin deleting Conductor Cloud user data. Please export your data before this date.”
- After that: “Local Conductor will continue to receive new models and critical bug fixes until early 2027.”

How do you export your Conductor data?
Two routes. To move a cloud workspace to your Mac, it says to “right-click it and choose Transfer to local”. For a full archive: “go to Settings → Account → Export data.” Do it before 20 Nov. The FAQ says local Conductor “will start winding down in early 2027”. We think that is the real deadline for local users.

1. Orca: if you used Conductor Cloud
Orca is the pick if your agents ran in Conductor Cloud. Its README, read 6 Nov 2026, says: “Run Claude Code, Codex, and any other coding agent in parallel, each in its own worktree.” You can “give a worktree its own cloud VM”, and “Your agents keep running when your laptop sleeps.”
The Orca site FAQ says “Orca is completely free and open source under the MIT license.” The GitHub API shows v1.4.250 released on 5 Nov 2026. See Orca vs Munder Difflin.
2. Munder Difflin: if you want a team, not a row of worktrees
Munder Difflin is what we make. It runs on engines such as Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI, and connects tools through MCP servers, skills and plugins, plus Slack and webhooks. Agents run while your computer runs. Its README, read 6 Nov 2026, lists “Per-agent git worktrees. Optional isolation so parallel agents never collide on branches.” A Cloud Office and a mobile app are coming soon. Setup is in how to install and use Munder Difflin.
3. Emdash: if you want Conductor’s shape, open source
Emdash is the nearest like for like swap. Its README, read 6 Nov 2026, says: “Each task runs in its own Git worktree, so you can explore multiple fixes or features at once, review the diffs, and merge what works.” It covers macOS, Windows and Linux, and remote machines over SSH.
It says it “does not send your code or chats to Emdash servers”, though “Agent CLIs may send code, prompts, and context to their own providers.” The Emdash site calls it “a free, open-source agentic development environment”. The licence is Apache 2.0, and v1.2.10 shipped on 30 Oct 2026. Its FAQ asks “Is Emdash related to the em dash punctuation mark?”, which this blog, having banned the mark, respects.
4. T3 Code: if you want to steer agents from your phone
T3 Code is for driving agents from a desktop, a browser or a phone. Its README, read 6 Nov 2026, calls it an “agent harness control surface” and names Conductor as an inspiration, adding that none “met our bar”.
The thread docs say to choose New worktree “when its code changes need a separate branch and working directory”. The T3 Code site says it is “free, open source and fast”, and it is MIT. Version 0.1.7 shipped on 4 Nov 2026, and the README warns: “We are very very early in this project. Expect bugs.” See T3 Code alternatives.
5. Worktrunk: if you only want the worktrees
Worktrunk is a CLI, not an app. Its README, read 6 Nov 2026, calls it “a CLI for git worktree management, designed for running AI agents in parallel”. One command, wt switch -c -x claude feat, creates a worktree and starts Claude Code in it. Its README badge gives the licence as MIT or Apache 2.0, and v0.81.0 shipped on 20 Oct 2026. See Worktrunk alternatives.
6. Claude Code --worktree: if you want nothing new to install
Claude Code already does the core trick. Anthropic’s worktrees docs, read 6 Nov 2026, say to “Pass --worktree or -w with a name to create an isolated worktree and start Claude in it”. Run it again with another name for a second session.
The LICENSE says “All rights reserved”, and v2.1.318 shipped on 4 Nov 2026. Anthropic’s pricing page, read 6 Nov 2026, lists Pro at $17 a month billed annually or $20 monthly, with Claude Code included. See git worktrees vs a hive.

What did we leave out?
Crystal. Its README, read 6 Nov 2026, says it “has been deprecated and replaced by Nimbalyst”, deprecated in February 2026. Our older Conductor alternative page predates the Meta news.
Which one should you pick?
Our view: Orca if your work lived in Conductor Cloud. Munder Difflin if you want a team of agents on research, writing, ops and code at once. Emdash for the closest local swap on any OS. T3 Code if you steer from a phone and accept early software. Worktrunk or Claude Code’s own flag if you just want the worktrees.
